What is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is very common. Some of the symptoms you could feel include:
Tingles, numbness or pins and needles in the thumb, index finger, middle finger and half of the ring finger
Pain into the muscle at the base of the thumb
Waking through the night with numb hands
Having to ‘shake’ hands out to ‘wake’ them up
Dropping things
Not being able to feel things normally with the fingertips
This happens when the median nerve gets compressed in the carpal tunnel - a tunnel at the base of your hand in your wrist.
